DEVELOPERS
Margaret and Bruce Hanson are long time advocates of conservation and awareness of nature and the beauty of the great outdoors. They have been camping, canoeing and fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout all over this great land together since their college days in the early ‘70s. They attended school and fished rivers and streams throughout the Ozarks, Wyoming and Montana.
After many years of building a successful business in Atlanta they decided to unplug from the fast pace of city life, giving it up for a simpler life in the North Georgia mountains. After making their home on the edge of Fightingtown Creek, fly fishing for trophy rainbow and brown trout, they decided to share this paradise with others. They built a beautiful and charming trout fishing retreat known the world over as The Dogwood Riverside Inn. Their guests came from near and far to lodge in one of the stream side cabins, take in the natural beauty of the mountains and partake in some of the best trophy trout fishing this side of the Big Horn River in Montana.
This chapter of their story inspired them to begin a seven year design plan to create a splendid mountain community on the banks of the Toccoa River. The vision was clear that the community should reside naturally within the forest, conservation taking precedence over all building conveniences. This decision and discipline has resulted in Riverwalk on the Toccoa being the finest mountain community in the North Georgia area. The greatest compliment paid to this team of developers is the fact that property owners have placed the preservation of the forests in Riverwalk as their top priority.
The Hansons are honored to serve their community and residents, nature, and the never-ending pursuit of “simplicity.”
